Claire began her journey as a photographer when she was very young. From the time she was three years old, she was taking photos of everything from her cat Peeper to sights around the world. At 11 years old she traded babysitting sessions with the children of a professional photographer for lessons in the darkroom and at 19  she moved to Seattle, wanting to see new things and learn all about her chosen craft.

In 2005 she went into business part-time as a photographer. At first she worked for free, but soon her results spoke for themselves, and people were eager to pay her. And so by 2010 Claire was getting restless to fulfill her goal which was to start her own business by the time she was 30 so by the time her birthday came around that year, she quit her job at a real estate firm, left business school  (having already learned more than enough to be getting on with), and Halcyon Claire Photography was born.

While Claire doesn’t have a formal degree in photography, her years of experience, love of hands-on learning, and the many classes she has taken through the Glassell School of Art and Texas School of Photography have made her into the photographer she is today.

Her dedication and passion have paid off, and her work has been featured in a number of different venues. You can find it in 002 Houston Magazine, interior design magazines, TLC’s The Little Couple, and Great Day in Houston. Claire has also worked with leading brands such as Pepsi and Mountain Dew as well as talent such as DeAndre Hopkins, Matt Schaub, Patrick Beverly, and the Rockets Power Dancers. She’s been given opportunities to shoot the things she loves most – love and beautiful backgrounds – and has brought her camera to everywhere from St. Petersburg, FL to Sydney, Australia and Vijayawada, India.
What does this passion and training mean for you? It means that when you work with Halcyon Claire Photography, you’ll get the benefit of years of experience and a true artist’s eye.
